Our Vision

To be a dynamic Christ-centred community, deepening the faith, commitment and participation of every member.

Our Core Values.

Bible Centred Teaching

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God containing all things necessary to salvation and which reveals the nature and purposes of God the holy Trinity and the nature and destiny of humankind. It stands as the supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16-17, 4:2-5) Therefore, the Bible will provide the guiding principles by which this church conducts its life and mission. The Bible is to be taught with relevance and authenticity.

Community

We believe God wants his people to love one another and our neighbour as ourselves. This includes welcoming the stranger, the hungry, the thirsty, the sick, the prisoner, just as Jesus modelled for us and has welcomed us. (Matt. 25:37-40, Luke 14:13) Therefore, this church will be a hospitable, welcoming, accepting and inclusive community, providing a safe place for people to discover and worship God.

Active Discipleship and Disciple-making

We believe that Jesus’ command to make disciples involves intentional, ongoing nurturing of faith and godly living in the life of every believer, following the example of our Lord Jesus. This includes encouraging one another in the study of God’s word, in prayer, in the exercising of our God given gifts, in continuing to meet together and actively participating in the life of the church. (Matt. 28:18-20; Heb. 10:24-25) Therefore, we are committed to being active and authentic disciples of Christ, growing in our knowledge, love and service of the Lord in every area of our lives. We will also encourage one another in Christian growth and commitment and in the sharing of our faith with others.

Prayer

We believe God wants his people to pray, that he hears and answers prayer, that it is primarily through prayer that his purposes are fulfilled and that God’s people are blessed when they pray. Jesus modelled this commitment to prayer. (Phil. 4:6-7; Luke 5:16) Therefore, this church, following the example of the Lord Jesus, will encourage its members to be people of prayer, and prayer shall form the foundation of all we do as a church

Mission

We believe God wants his people to share Christ’s love with others, as ultimately expressed in his death and resurrection. As the Father sent the Son into the world, so the Son sent his disciples into the world to proclaim the good news of eternal life for all who believe. (Matt. 28:18-20; John 20:21) Therefore, this church will encourage the practice of mission within our own local community, across our nation and further abroad.

Servant Leadership

We believe the essence of Christian leadership is servanthood as modelled by Christ Jesus. Jesus also taught his disciples not to lord it over others in leadership but to serve. (Mark 10:42-45) Therefore, the leaders of this church will strive to exercise godly servant leadership.

Worship

We believe that God is worthy of our praise and worship for who he is and all he has done for us in Christ. We are encouraged in the Bible to give thanks and praise to God and to worship him with awe and reverence. Worship involves a whole-hearted commitment to serving God. (Psalm 95; John 4:24; Heb. 12:28, 13:15; Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 14:26 & 40) Therefore, this church will provide services in the evangelical Anglican tradition that are liturgical and relevant, providing opportunities for reflection, awe, inspiration and celebration
